Having a moment to consider the poor programme editors of Manchester City's imminent opponents (looking at you first Liverpool) and wondering: "What the hell are you supposed to write?" And that's not to mention the poor City counterpart/ media staff who will be total bystanders to this mess.

Terrific piece by @jonawils.bsky.social. The more one reads, the more PL expulsion feels inevitable. But where to? The PL & EFL are governed separately. The former can't instruct the latter to assume City's registration as Scotland did with Rangers. This is unprecedented territory. And a mess.

Reappropriating Man City's success seems utterly pointless. Remove titles and honours (if appropriate) but don't patronise those who missed out with asterisk honours. Best sanctions are future ones. Retrospective is pointless. It's history.
