This is a big part of why Canadians have to stay the course in pivoting away from the US as much as possible. They're not regaining their sanity on the long-term, or at least we can't plan on it.

Every once in a while this picture goes around and every time someone is in the comments pointing out that this isn't true at all. But it's too late, the lie has already gone viral. But at least it shows how fast false information can spread and that fact checking after the fact is a waste of time

A lot of brunch spots don't take reservations on weekends anymore because of this. Also, more and more restaurants in general demand your credit card info when you make a reso so that they can charge you for being a no show

Neurotically fixated on avoiding the appearance of having a bias that they platform the worst people in any debate. Of course, forgetting the fact that there's no convincing people that think that the CBC is liberal propaganda otherwise

American liberals fretting more over semantic usage of the term mandate (Max is using it right, especially in the Canadian context) than they are the actual substance of Max's argument is so very telling. American liberals really don't get why Canadians are so mad. Dems aren't coming to the rescue.

Suburban sprawl developer thinks suburban sprawl is the only way to develop, more at 11. His argument also falls short if you think about it for more than a minute
Shane Wenzel via LinkedIn:

Edmonton wants half of its new homes built inside existing neighbourhoods.

We have seen this in Calgary. Imagine Calgary, Plan It Calgary, the Calgary Plan, each one drew a line where growth was supposed to go.

Twelve years after Edmonton's first infill roadmap, the answer is 22 more actions.

None of it puts a roof over anyone. An issued permit does. Buyers decided where they want to live, and every plan that argues with them adds to the price.

Google is not acting cowardly. They are not capitulating. Sundar Pichai was sitting in the front row at Donald Trump's inauguration. Google knows that digital imperialism is a joint project of the US government and Silicon Valley. Google benefits enormously, so you give a bit to get a bit.

Every time a pedestrianization pilot comes up, the BIA is the first to protest it. Every time a pedestrianization pilot happens and ends, the BIA is amongst the voices most adamant that they do it again. Maybe something to consider for 1th Ave in Calgary.

One of the most radicalizing aspects of this whole situation is the Americans in my mentions who are offended that I'm not making an effort to acknowledge that they're one of the good ones, and blameless for all of the things that their democratically elected president is doing.
