Sure. To be clear, I am not advocating a complete separation from civil politics nor do I practice as such. I agree with your point in liberal analogs as argued e.g. Ward, Redeeming the Enlightenment. And yet, it's very difficult to keep one's soul in the contemporary politics of spectacle.

A critical demonstration of the impossibility of "Christian" nationalism, exemplified in a person elevated by many of the so-called faithful to the status of divine vicar. Nationalism is simply a form of idolatry, and any marriage of the ekklesia with the State will destroy the former.

I strongly believe that citizens’ assemblies and deliberative democracy are the antidote to combating the divisiveness and misinformation that is spread by the hard right. They strengthen community bonds, increase social and cultural understanding and combat alienation from the democratic process.
