Does this count for #MosaicMonday? The turquoise mask of the turquoise god Xiuhtecuhtli possibly given to the Conquistador Cortes by the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma ii and thus associating Cortes with this god.

1/ Stone labyrinth gate, one of three entrances to the triple walled bronze age hillfort of Gradina rediscovered at the start of the last century. The gate turns and narrows to funnel any approach into a bottleneck. #HillfortsWednesday

This ruling shows that proscribing Palestine Action was a grave misuse of terrorism laws. Labour must accept its mistake, drop its appeal and stop wasting taxpayers' money suppressing civil liberties. Degrading counter-terror powers is a genuine threat to national security.

#HillfortsWednesday Between 1795-1816 the hillforts of #Dorset were part of a chain of visual shutter relay telegraph stations for the Admiralty connecting Plymouth to London. The chain included the high Hillforts of Lewesdon, Bulbarrow and Hambledon and at the racetrack by Badbury Rings 1/14

A limestone anchor, found being used as a headrest in a burial at the post-Roman cemetery of Worth Matravers, Dorset #TombTuesday An extremely rare find, it suggests the individual had connections to the sea, perhaps through fishing or trade. Learn more 🆓 doi.org/10.15184/aqy... 🏺 #Archaeology

On this day 19th August 1642, Hugh Green was put to death in #MaumsburyRings #Dorchester. Green was a Roman Catholic chaplain practicing in Chideock Castle when in March 1942, Charles I issued the order to ban all Roman Catholic priests from the kingdom. #Dorset 1/
