Bellerephon slaying the Chimera Lindos. His lead tipped spear melting in the throat of the fire breathing beast and suffocating it. #MosaicMonday

From Spain the treasure was split and the mask likely ended up in the hands of Italian aristocracy including the Medicis before arriving on British shores and being bequeathed to the museum by Henry Christie

The mask was certainly from the Royal Aztec treasuries and returned to the Spanish King Charles V as part of his 5th of proceeds, quinto real, the Royal Fifth.

Does this count for #MosaicMonday? The turquoise mask of the turquoise god Xiuhtecuhtli possibly given to the Conquistador Cortes by the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma ii and thus associating Cortes with this god.

We got to go around during one of the brief breaks during Covid. There was nobody there but myself and the family, not even an attendant. Was a fantastic visit

Also the home of a gruesome game of 'football' with the head of a quartered Catholic priest and various botched executions.

Hardy was witness to one of the last few public executions by hanging at Dorchester Prison as a young teen. It affected him deeply.

Haughey's Fort, Co. Armagh is part of a much wider prehistoric landscape #HillfortsWednesday Discovery of over 200 possible structures and an avenue leading to a ritual pool nearby suggests it was a site of social, economic and ritual importance. 🆓 doi.org/10.15184/aqy... 🏺 #Archaeology

After his performance in the original Drunken Master thought Jackie was a shoo-in for the lead in Kramer vs Kramer. Coward Hollywood played it safe with Hoffman and robbed us of the better film.

The uppermost rampart of Gradina hillfort was levelled in 1898 to form a hippodrome but the site had houses, terraces and areas for keeping cattle. The top plateau is covered with piles of stone from these lost dwellings. The hillfort was fed by a nearby spring.

2/ Sharp blade-like rocks placed in the walls and nearby ready piled slingshot added to the gate defence. The entire fort was protected by three rings of drystone wall around a large flat plateau with rings measuring from 90m diameter to 300m

NP! It's lovely to watch this go up in stages. See the choices made on chalk 'plastering' etc and the various techniques they tried to see how things 'may' have been done with available tools. Like any good archaeologist he accepts the limits of knowledge. I'm amazed you two have never met.
