I was an Ennis fanboy for all the edgelord satirical grotesqueries of PREACHER and HITMAN but the Superman issue in 34 was SO GOOD and SO SINCERE and SUCH A GREAT SUPERHERO STORY that I dropped the titles and have avoided Ennis ever since. He could have been one of the greats, but chose not to be.
