Original roughs for @magicwhistle.bsky.social's brilliant thought metaphor run. The capper on this hits like the first time EVERY time.

Three rough storyboard panels in graphite on yellow post-it.

PANEL 1: A Manager SpongeBob in a visor shouts at a harried Worker SpongeBob going through a file cabinet.
MANAGER: Hurry up! What do you think I'm PAYING you for?!
WORKER: You don't pay me! We don't even exist!

PANEL 2: Managerlooks shocked while Worker explains:
WORKER: We're just a clever visual metaphor used to personify the abstract concept of thought!

PANEL 3: Miffed Manager thumbs over his shoulder while Worker screams back, distressed.
MANAGER: One more crack like that and you're outta here!
WORKER: No! Please! I have three kids!

Exactly. I am tired of seeing the “I always knew”/“their work was actually bad” takes whenever allegations emerge. Sometimes—often, actually!—bad people find their way into good spaces and make good things. And you’re not better than the folks who were taken advantage of for “always knowing”

REALLY cool to see the peitition getting so much steam day 1 for Ubisoft employees. Collective Action is how you get things done, and the best way to get collective action is to spread the word. If you know any Ubisoft employees, tell them about the peition.

The thing about all discourse about JRPGs, turn based combat, random encounters, whatever is that they don't even make RPGs like that anymore! Square, Atlus, they all listened to you! You guys got what you wanted and still complain online about it!

i am joining in the gaming discourse, im gonna say it: While getting an H-Scene when you lose is understandable when it makes sense with the themes of the work, I think it usually drags down the pacing of the narrative too much.

Eniko Fox
@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place

OH. right! i get it now!

i get why AI is so depressing to me. because covid already shrunk my world to almost nothing, where almost all of my life revolves around socializing and watching videos on the internet (which is being ruined by AI) and creating creative works through coding (which is being ruined by AI), often using open source tools and libraries (which are being ruined by AI)

i already had so little and now even that is being rotted away before my eyes
