Imagine if you mailed the IRS a check to pay your taxes, but they left their mail unopened for years and then arrested you for failure to pay taxes. That’s effectively what ICE is doing to increasing numbers of people now; people out of status only because of GOVERNMENT delay.

@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social Mechanically, how can the BIA issue a deportation order in an appeal from a bond decision? Is there some sort of underlying order to reinstate?

@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social The State Department's guidance on passports suggests that certain children will be citizens at birth if the mother has a certain status, but not if the father has that same status. How can that be squared with Morales-Santana? travel.state.gov/content/dam/...

Not quite on point here, but there are a couple of cases from the N.D. Ind. which has clerk's offices in multiple time zones, but all electronic filings are stamped in Eastern Time, where a filing was submitted before midnight CT, but after midnight ET. scholar.google.com/scholar_case...

Can people stop spreading this. It's false. He said he saw someone who used to work with Iacocca. Not that he spoke with Iacocca.
