he may be more of a symptom than a cause, but the issue is that America thinks its better than everyone else and deserves it. Just like most Americans think they are better than their neighbors and deserve more.

Disagree. Your point about fascism may be correct but issues of guns, and social deliberalization, anti intellectualism, opioid addition, self centeredness , and corporate cronyism are not the same. Having moved to Eu 10 years ago I was struct by how much more different society is than I expected.

Well I paid for an online and paper subscription to wired after their hard / correct/ good work on the doge nonsense. But fluff like this makes me want to cancel.

And salt too is a complicated thing. While the link to high blood pressure is not wrong, it only affects some people and is moderated by other diet choices and water intake. Shockingly food science is complicated and the journalism around it rarely is.

I remember 5-10 years ago when the big hype was 'take more anti oxidants' , And 'Corn-derived', does the citric acid powder magically remember its made from corn? Lets stay on target people and go after all the sugar in food that makes people fat and gives people high blood pressure.

And lets all get people to stop taking vitamin C, couldn't be any known down sides there? 'Processed' and 'Ultra Processed' have no concrete definition and are the current scary thing. They mean 'chemicals. Correlation is not causality, please hire a scientist to vet the stuff.

Another useless news summary of murky conclusions from a study claiming food 'assocaitions' with disease states. No discussion about how these same foods tend to be calorie dense or how people of lower means gravitate to these foods and have poorer health in general. Correlation is not causality.

You mean actual vision and not just placation and half measure. We can worry about compromise later but we need to start out with a bold vision

This is what they want to take action on? Not criminal politicians, not citizens united, not billions vs working class. They don't even want to go after tech they want to take away privacy and peoples rights under the guise of protecting children. They really are 1990s republicans

What terrible editor decided on these headlines. In the first paragraph the write calls it 'largely symbolic' and it was 'light on policy'.

Poland is often seen as Europe's coal stronghold. In 2000, coal generated 94% of its electricity. But something remarkable is happening: Coal's share has fallen to 50%. Wind+solar, non-existent 15yrs ago, now generate 1/4 of electricity. More in my newsletter. Sign up here: janrosenow.substack.com

Countries are all using their FF resources full tilt, I am merely saying that the windfall profits from that extraction should be spent on decarbonization first. Cost is always raised as a limitation. I argue that the money is there. Let FF pay to obsolete themselves.

They did what all countries should do. Use remaining and easy fossil fuel resources for the temporary gain they are and take the profits to transform into a perpetually green state. IT was logistically easier for them but can be replicated in many/most places.

When you arent fat anymore you dont feel guilty about some chocolate. When you aren't super hungry you indulge in smaller quantity / higher quality. When you desire gets turned down you might seek out something you remember that hits a bit more

So glad they are successfully enforcing copyrights that enforceable in Ireland. Oh wait they are just moving at the behest of sky as people cut their subscriptions. So glad there are no drugs to seize in the country, or car thefts to investigate.

SPM probably would have easily sold out if it was as limited as EOE. I know I preferred EOE but outside LOTR /MH2/LOTR nothing would have sold all the SPM they produced. I do think us super magic fans underestimate how much spiderman did sell to players though

Kai was indisputably one of the greatest Magic competitors ever, but he was also one of the greatest sports and community members. Despite his outrageous success, he was always kind, welcoming, and humble, open to talking to pretty much anyone about Magic.

Absolutely. As long as they are without any shame or limit, no reason for the opposition to equivocate. No warrants, no identification, deadly force. all of it is illegal. This is a quaismilitary force acting completely outside the law.
