New — I had the opportunity to see NAZA, the documentary freaking out the Israeli government because of its horrifying firsthand descriptions of the way the IDF has used AI to target and massacre Palestinian civilians. My thoughts on the film’s damning revelations, and the banality of evil:

The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

The rise in rulings on the “shadow docket” has been driven, at least in part, by Trump’s losses in lower courts. “The patterns show a court going out of its way to enable Trump,” one scholar said. “That’s the real blow to the court’s credibility.” (Published July)

This is a chance to revive the green transition, which has been sidelined since Trump’s election Europe and China are partly insulated from oil shocks thanks to past investments in renewables, transit & EVs The US, by contrast, is far more exposed, and Trump has doubled down on that vulnerability.
