Watching this just makes me so goddamn angry. You knew it was happening, but seeing tons of small businesses that made real things that added real value to the world get swept away by five or six giant trillion-dollar companies laundering money between each other is some serious hell-planet shit.

There's the CAC period too, if the AP hops to another DFS channel all devices need to stop transmitting for at least 60s to ensure the channel is clear from any radars before they're allowed to use it.

A cartoon drawing resembling an old magazine advertisement. It is titled “Dog in Zero Batteries,” with a black dog leaping through a large zero. Two wolves hold a flashlight and radio, saying “the light is swallowed,” and “the sound is absorbed.” A battery is shown with two negative terminals. At bottom, text reads “Something is taken away™️”

Remote attestation is a heavily underdiscussed threat to computing freedom. People often mistakenly dismiss it with "I will run my own fork (of the OS or browser) / Magisk", not understanding that with hardware attestation, you're literally unable to 1/
Remote attestation explained with wojaks.
A bunch of normies' computers/phones are sending a cryptographic proof that their hardware+software is FAANG-approved and signed.

So the cloud service returns the content they're asking for.

A fourth wojak is unable to provide such cryptographic proof (because he runs non-FAANG-approved local software), and gets denied access

I had a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan till the rust plus a brake issue caused me to give up on it. They're honestly great to drive and could hold a ludicrous amount of things in the back, could fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the rear.

Tokyo Nights is still showing correctly, at least for the paperback that's showing as prime from Amazon, though not the hard cover. Hopefully it works out, but just wanted to let you know the distributor seems to be letting non-US down right now

Chartreuse @chartreusek.bsky.social · 28/04/2026
Doesn't seem to actually be being distributed outside of the US on Amazon at least. Canada now has 3 resellers one US, one Uragauy(?), one UK. Looking up the ISBN (1971088064) gives other countries' amazon listings but those also seem to be 3rd parties from the US.

Yeah it's weird. At least with what is shown it'd be cheaper and probably faster to buy from the US. Hopefully will just resolve itself tomorrow
Buying on amazon.ca showing a 3rd party seller with a price of 52.99 and 29.99 delivery.

Delivery estimate being may 26 to June 4Buying from amazon.com shows a price of 47.88 CAD plus 12.81 shipping + import, plus 10.41 delivery

Not yet seeing a Canada pre-order option, at least on Amazon, so hoping it'll just appear properly tomorrow. Right now the only seller shown is a ships from US option that costs more than ordering it from Amazon.com

in case you missed it, we decided to fork KeePassXC. (post linked in the screenshot below: keepassxc.org/blog/2025-11...) join us @ #keepasschi on libera.chat!
KeePassXC asks us to be skeptical of them if we are skeptical of LLMs. This is a convincing argument. A password manager doesn't need 300 regular contributors armed with 14 LLMs; it just needs to do its job, be stable, and be ported to Qt 6 already.

We are a small group of engineers with extensive open source maintenance and information security experience, and we forked KeePassχ from KeePassXC 2.7.10, the last release before the advent of the LLM policy linked above. We like using a robust, secure, and trustworthy password manager, so that's what we'll focus on. Anything on top of that is a bonus.

With printed media, you can just store it in a warehouse. When some company says "we never said that," you can go to the archives, fetch a newspaper, and that ends the argument. When the companies on their websites change stories, there is no archive outside the Internet Archive.

An extremely funny thing about retro rereleases that use unlicensed emulators is that you are basically committing the exact same crime (using software outside of the terms of its license) that has you so scared of downloading roms in the first place but now someone has monetized it.
