I'm much better with technical things than people. I can interact for a few hours before my masking breaks. I've wondered if I could exist full time in a non-technical role and I'm not sure I could

Anyone else in the games industry feel as though we are anywhere near "full employment"? www.marketplace.org/story/2026/0...

In a bank of elevators I can predict which one will show up with 100% accuracy. It's only a slightly useful ability

I was denied a job at one point after answering a code question by using a nested loop for some string thing. The interviewer then said they could do it with a single loop by using a built-in function instead. They couldn't grasp the function they were using contained a loop and wasn't any better 🤦‍♀️

Wait so "protocol buffers" are just packed structs and the data transmitted is just a binary representation of that? So they're just serializing data like we've used for games for years and they've just now discovered this secret and given it a new name to seem clever 😹

I used to be able to deal easier with where I was in life because I still had hope. Enough things haven't ended up working out the way they were supposed to so hope isn't part of the equation anymore
