After watching coyote Vs acme yesterday I'm sad to say I thought it was a really shitty movie. The gags were....ok? But the rest of the movie was so poor. Script was shit. Pacing was fucked. I think once people get over the novelty and nostalgia of it, the realisation will set in

It just needs to be a measured response is all. When up skirting started we didn't ban phones, or go pros, or self sticks. We amended existing legislation to reflect that it was a sexually violent act. We need proper consequences for those who use them for sexual violence or humiliation

It's fake outrage. We have been filmed without our consent for DECADES with CCTV, go-pros, drones and phones. And they've all been abused. Not once have they been vilified like meta glasses. But the chance to vilify one that's used by blind and VI people it's jumped on.

The same can be said about go-pros or drones. We are filmed without consent whenever we are out and about. It's horrific how meta glasses are being used by certain content creators. But it didn't start with meta glasses, they are however the first one that can be used by disabled people.

There isn't because you're in public so there is no presumption of privacy. Like its horrifying how meta glasses are being used by tiktokers, pick up artists etc. But no one has taken this stance on CCTV clips being put online by businesses. Or go-pro/drone footage for tourism.

I had this conversation with Thew last night who had only seen the pervert glasses narrative. When I showed him how they are used by blind and VI people he was amazed as he had no idea this was an application for them. And that's from a guy with a VI wife who he has lived with for 3 years.

I'm visually impaired. And although I get along fine without meta glasses I have seen THOUSANDS of blind and VI people describe them as life changing. Especially those who have had sudden sight loss this tech has enabled them to maintain a level of independence they thought they had lost.

This has been breaking my heart all week. Kayleigh is an old school friend of mine and her beautiful 6 year old Sienna was the victim of a hit and run. 2 teenagers on a motorbike riding illegally on a cycle path hit Sienna leaving her with catastrophic injuries.

Sienna was riding her bike and playing with her friends after school on a cycle path in the park—a place where children should be able to laugh, play and feel safe. Instead, she was struck by a motorbike that was being ridden where it never should have been. The impact was so violent it snapped her bike in half.

Before this, Sienna was an active, fearless little girl. She loved MMA, backflips on the trampoline, and making everyone around her smile. In an instant, all of that changed. She has suffered life-changing injuries. Her head was partially internally decapitated, and we have been told that the fact she is still here is nothing short of a miracle.
I am angry beyond words. I am heartbroken beyond measure."

My glasses broke last night and as some of you may know I can see precisely fuck all without my glasses. So I've got an old pair with a slightly different prescription and the frames are a lot smaller. So basically this is me for the rest of the morning
