Go to any high street in England and ask random people if their GP offers more appointments now than in 2019. You know the answer, it'll be a flat "no". In my work borough, GP practices provided 113,707 appointments in May 2026. In May 2019, they provided 64,159. 77% more appointments. 1/3

Lumo gets it right straight off: “Russia did - this isn't really contested among historians or international bodies…” And Bearly says: “Russia started the war against Ukraine.” Pleased that the two AI apps I’ve used don’t go down loony logic routes, on this topic at least.

It's been 7 months since I gave evidence at the UKGov select committee hearing, on the policy changes at UKRI which have had a catastrophic impact on funding for UK astronomy and particle physics. When asked if we thought we were the "canary in the coal mine", we said yes..... we weren't wrong. 🧪🔭⚛️

I respect the bloke who believes lizard people run the world. At least he's committed. What I can't stand is the guy who repeats it, adds 'I'm not saying it's true,' and expects a medal for balanced thinking.

All the 500 we planted came from community tree nurseries at the end of the last planting season so (1) weren’t going to supported at theirs over the summer + needed planting, but (2) were planted late in the season (Feb/Mar) so most vulnerable to a hot summer

Speaking from the sharp end: my ill-health pension for injuries sustained on duty? No triple lock. Plain CPI.
020
Charlie Radclyffe @charlierad.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Pension layman here, but… The triple lock is a workaround for a state pension that's too low. Fix the level first, then index it honestly (maybe CPI, like the rest of the welfare system). If the level's right, you don't need a ratchet.

I haven’t stayed clued up on others’ pension proposals over the years I recall Teresa May having some bold social care plans, but - so the story goes - conservative MPs told her to water them down after constituent feedback. But i don’t remmeber if they weaved in pension reform too.

I’m curious what legal and tech experts think about Plaud AI for court-based usage.
000
Charlie Radclyffe @charlierad.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
These questions arise solely from that one policy and from a 3 minute reading of it by a layman. For a UK court to be permitting this one platform to be used - only because this is the only one they’ve reviewed so far - lends weight to its systems all being up to scratch.

4. Plaud staff have “restricted” access to data; when they access recording content are those accesses logged?
