Went through that with my father 3 years ago. I *still* get notices about him from companies and actual government agencies, that I reported it to, saying "You didn't tell us he died!" even though I sent them the paperwork. I wish you much better luck than I had.

I’m not dismissing your experience. I’m saying “I experienced harm” and “goth/post-punk bands are promoting real-world violence” are very different claims. If there’s evidence of threats, harassment, or incitement, document and report it. Without specifics, it smears a whole scene.

I’m saying I’m sorry you’re grieving, genuinely. But the earlier claims about goth/post-punk bands promoting real-world violence were serious, and I still think claims like that need evidence, names, context, and proper reporting — not vague accusations or private whisper networks.

In a reply, Horror Culturist says the target is “just an ordinary weirdo,” not a fascist, racist, extremist, bigot, pedophile, creeper, or violent criminal, and adds, “Yes, I have evidence. Should we create a private group chat?”

Charles the Goblin replies that serious claims require public evidence, saying if bands are promoting real-world violence, they should be named, receipts should be shown, and reports should be made; otherwise people should not smear an entire subculture with vague insinuations. Another user agrees, calling it Satanic Panic-style moral panic.
