Not a miracle. It was awe-inspiring heroism and courage displayed during the attempt to hijack and crash Flydubai flight FZ1073 traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Hero: pilot and Indian national Smit Machchhar, who was attacked with a knife by his Omani co-pilot. While fighting his attacker, he was able to notify the crew and passengers (possibly by hitting the PA button). Lying in a pool of his own blood and still fighting, he was able to allow access to the cockpit while the plane was taking a violent nosedive, losing 17,000 to 18,000 feet in about two minutes. Heroes: the ordinary Israeli citizens who did not hesitate a second and jumped to assist the crew in fighting their way into the cockpit and subduing the co-pilot. This level of heroism and courage cannot be dismissed. People often miss that Israel has a citizen defense force made up of doctors, artists, college students, grandparents, business owners who all serve to defend their homes and nation against attacks by other nations, terrorist armies, and decentralized terror campaigns.
Heroes: the flight crew who joined the passengers to get into the cockpit, subdue the attacker, and manage the passengers and chaos throughout the cabin.
Heroes: off-duty pilots on board who were able to get the plane under control and safely land it in Saudi Arabia.
It takes a village/tribe/community to keep each other safe, with people willing to fight evil when it comes to their doorstep. I have huge respect for all involved in this event.

Gratitude and respect for the heroism of Captain Machcchar, who fended off the Islamist terrorist trying to crash Flydubai flight FZ1073 flight, with 180 people onboard. 1/x

Remember this name: Captain Smit Machchhar.
He was the captain stabbed whilst resisting his copilot's attempt to hijack this morning's flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
Passengers and a crew member forced their way into the cockpit and subdued the attacker as he tried to sabotage the aircraft's systems. Other pilots then brought the plane safely down in Saudi Arabia.
An Indian captain, courageous Israeli passengers and crew. Together, they helped avert a catastrophe.
We owe them our gratitude.

There was a terrorist attack on a plane headed to Tel Aviv from Dubai. There are more images & videos, but they're pretty gruesome and terrifying. Thankfully, there were some brave people on board to avert the disaster.

To be fair, I'm still not 100% reassured myself. Folks like Haley, Nessel & Slotkin coming onboard have pushed me from 50/50 to perhaps 75% or so...but again, I voted for him yesterday & have raised over $20K for his campaign, so clearly I'm in; I'm just hoping I didn't make a huge mistake is all.

This coverage is an embarrassment. An altercation. A pilot stabbed another pilot & tried to crash a plane with 174 Israeli passengers on it. There’s video of the bloody pilot who managed to still open the cockpit. You can call it terrorism instead of acting like it’s “just” a murder-suicide attempt.

There was some islamophobia...along with a lot of antisemitic rhetoric from his camp. Having said that, the MOMENT he won the primary he was immediately endorsed by virtually the entire MI Dem establishment. Meanwhile, not only have I already voted for him, I've raised over $20,000 for him.
