A Night on Bald Mountain (1933) woah, really cool! didn't know they were doing animation like this back in the 30s, it feels like a predecessor to some 60s/70s stuff. i think this is called pinscreen animation? it's rad, as are the images they've paired with mussorgsky's music

it was so good! reminiscent of del toro and selick, but the attention to detail puts it above several of their respective works tbh - the lines on the walls of the cave where they host the evil council, the clothes! especially the queen's, the feathers on the royal family, it's all so well done

Society hell yeah, hell yeah this is what i come to horror for the least subtle foreshadowing in the world followed by an explosion of screaming mad george effects, rip king this ruled 🙏 love that one of the rich people at the party just says out loud the themes of the movie, we do be living in a

I Am Frankelda wow the creature design and set design in this are truly fantastic! exactly what you want from spooky stop motion, there is so much texture and color to every character and background, the villain song scene really went hard on the weirder animation too. will check out the web show!

Fruit & Nut very funny, i liked it! i too would let a hot evil women drag me into a life of crime for a taste of that jam, especially with those jams 🎶 very dad rock 70s psychedelia, but with that spongebob humor to it, great time for a lil 6 minute thing

Carney announces the crude oil pipeline to the West Coast, which will almost certainly drive the orcas there to extinction, is designated in the “national interest.” That means it can bulldoze past environmental laws, impact assessments and Indigenous consultation. He laughs while announcing it.

(not that the producers aren't also to blame for all of this ofc, there's plenty of blame to go around, but you know, storytelling conventions and all that it might have been a 9 or 10/10 for me if it were more focused in on the one lead character)

Primetime great, very funny! waoh cinematography! could have been harder on hansen, lets the producer take on more of the culpability so there's room for a bit of rote 'tragic egonomanic learns fame has a price' but pattinson does such a great job with his maximalist performance that it still lands

the defining games story of the last decade is when the dead cells team got a bunch of positive press for being a workers co-op but then the game was a huge hit and so they made a private company for all the new employees to scale up into while the “co-op” remained about ten people large lol

Midori seazer dropping john carpenter beats in the aside about the magicians, and the bit where she's running through photographs? awesome! the scene where masamitsu fucks the audience up, with the music? almost worth sitting through this for. fuck the rest of it though i'll take belladonna any day

Ade (Xalam) fantastic album for a chill monday morning, the percussion on this is out of this world good. the keyboardist is doing phenomenal work on some of these tracks, the way it bounces off the percussion is really cool. 'kanu' is my fave because i'm predictable but all of it's a great listen

thank you!! 🤗 i think i've read most of the lord in that collection (though i'll seek out the essay i think i've missed) and i looove they were eleven already haha, but i will add all of these others to the list for trinity blood, manga or ln? i saw the anime but neither were fully tl'd at the time
