I’ve been a bit puzzled by why some have taken this poll, which puts Harris at the top and Newsom in second place, as being in some way pro-DSA. I get the org is who they are but like…the results are not somehow skewed towards that flank of the party in any way

This poll aligns with my general feel for where things stand going into the 2028 cycle, which is that the primary is currently anyone’s game. Numbers like this combined w/ the name recognition responses suggest voters aren’t decided. There’s plenty of room for candidates to break through or falter.

To be honest, I'm not surprised that Hochman ended up in the State Department. I wrote about his stint in Sen. Schmitt's office for @liberalcurrents.com last year and the trajectory was pretty evident then. www.liberalcurrents.com/missouri-sen...
A screenshot from the linked article reading: "But I do want people to recognize that, as someone more observant than me posted in a now-deleted tweet, “ur average young republican is some groyper with a copy of bronze age pervert.” Maybe it wasn’t futile to hope for a return to normal politics back in 2017, when Republican senators not named Collins or Murkowski might still condemn Trump’s racist remarks on occasion. But it certainly is now.
