"Ripping out these protected bike lanes against the will of Toronto city council is a colossal waste of $48 million. The province’s own experts know it will not ease traffic congestion, it will put people’s lives at risk…” One of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen any politician do to any city.

The U.S. annual budget deficit just hit its highest level since COVID. The THIRD-LARGEST in American history. Almost $2 TRILLION in a year. The government spent 37% more than it collected. And somehow, this isn’t the biggest financial story in America right now.

Companies are racing to develop a new kind of solar panel that produces more energy. It would reduce the amount of land needed to generate power and could help U.S. producers, which has fallen far behind China in solar manufacturing. Ivan Penn reports: www.nytimes.com/2026/10/05/b...

Grocery store prices in rural Alaska right now. Most goods here come by barge or plane, so life here has always cost more. But this? This is as bad as it's ever been. This is what the price-hiking war in Iran is costing Alaskans. Dan Sullivan has now voted for it 14 times.

She will anyone vote to say there is a significant minority who aren’t happy and will continue to use this leverage against the federal gov’t. What we have to hope for I think is for separatists to leave to form their own party (although this could backfire).

Agree - It is about action. There is no action on climate except for the ocassional announcement (eg. Heat pumps). The action has been caving to Alberta and the weakening of our environmental and climate guidelines and regulations.

We need to get rid of FPTP. Consider run-offs or something people understand and which aren’t complicated. In the case of the QC vote I’d argue this vote isn’t the worst instance in the sense the PQ were the largest vote getter so a minority gov’t seems okay.
