Found my mom's boyfriend on Facebook, the one who is the father of my half-sister. Had an hour-long conversation with him right before therapy, and got a substantial lore drop about my family that has me full-on "Shinji from Evangelion in a Chair" Just... Jesus Fucking Christ.

Next Monday will mark 30 years since my mom passed. Last Monday would have been her 65th birthday. She passed when she was 35. I've now outlived her by three years. Feeling like I'm starting to enter perimenopause, on top of this, made the grief exceptionally hard this year. It's been a rough week.

Boyfriend and I acquired 50TB of external storage, and have quite the library, along with my bookshelf of DVD's. It's been fun re-watching all the movies and shows I grew up with, that he has yet to experience. Freakazoid, Swat Katz, Reboot, Gargoyles, and MST3K are going to be great to revisit.

I got amazing news today that proves karma exists. My family always blamed me for being assaulted by my uncle. I've basically been no-contact since I was 18, save for a few calls. I've learned his house has burned down; he is currently homeless, and he is guilt-tripping family members for money.

Personal experience/opinion ofc, but your art's gonna suck if your main motivation is clout, fame or money. Art is self expression and you need to actually care about it and enjoy making it or it will look like garbage and you will grow to hate it. Not much else will push you through the shit stages
