3D printers, especially when they're used charitably, for example, there are people who 3D print dog wheelchairs for disabled dogs and give them to rescues for free. Lots of cool things you can do with them. Also safety tech on cars, like pedestrian detection and blind spot monitoring.

I hate to report that calf stretches and rolling my feet on a frozen water bottle were the cheapest parts of the solution. I also bought arch support inserts that helped a lot, and then eventually gave up and bought an expensive pair of Brooks stability running shoes. That seemed to finally end it
