As always, I'm keen to hear from potential contributors. You just need i) to love short stories ii) to be able to narrow that love down to 12 (TWELVE!) stories and iii) be able to write about what they mean to you. DMs open. Don't be shy!

It appears in 2026 we're back again with some insisting the novel must end at Middlemarch. Some days it's as though modernism never happened. This is the only work where you're requested to do it poorly to satisfy people's tame and dull appetites. We would never been this unambitious for visual art

While I may own more steam train recordings than is strictly necessary, I read a sleeve note like this and have to buy another.
The sleeve of a 1970s Argo World of Railways record, showing George Heiron's picture of 'The Merchant Venturer,' a Castle class loco, waiting to leave Bristol Temple Meads station. The sleeve notes from the LP. Noted: Band Three, its meticulous setting of time and place, and its 'warning for the signalman.'

The kids who hang out at the skate ramps in my local park have constructed this, which (on an otherwise bleak day) has warmed my heart: such a simple example of collective care and responsibility.
The top part of a small metal post which has been improvisedly made into a 'coat rack' (as mentioned in a sticker on the post) with the addition of metal hooks and some tape. A grey metal lamp post stump in front of a hedge next to the (unseen) skate ramps in my local park.
