@jonathangibbs.bsky.social Set up in the early 50s, Transacord were the Motown of rail recordings. Many many discs (some sold up to 30 000 copies), this one is a favourite, mostly because of its inclusion of platform passenger announcements and excellent sleevenotes.

While I may own more steam train recordings than is strictly necessary, I read a sleeve note like this and have to buy another.
The sleeve of a 1970s Argo World of Railways record, showing George Heiron's picture of 'The Merchant Venturer,' a Castle class loco, waiting to leave Bristol Temple Meads station. The sleeve notes from the LP. Noted: Band Three, its meticulous setting of time and place, and its 'warning for the signalman.'

The kids who hang out at the skate ramps in my local park have constructed this, which (on an otherwise bleak day) has warmed my heart: such a simple example of collective care and responsibility.
The top part of a small metal post which has been improvisedly made into a 'coat rack' (as mentioned in a sticker on the post) with the addition of metal hooks and some tape. A grey metal lamp post stump in front of a hedge next to the (unseen) skate ramps in my local park.

I was one tasked with translating an extremely long Joseph Kosuth piece, and have never forgiven him.
Piazza Plebiscito in Naples, adorned by a very long Joseph Kosuth text/neon work, a quotation from (if I remember rightly) Benedetto Croce.

Marc Almond and the mighty Loveless putting garage/glam/trash rock into Christmas at @thetradesclub.bsky.social this afternoon. (And a mighty post-punk dj set from @adellestripe.bsky.social to kick off.)
Marc Almond with a tasty haircut, leather jacket and unidentified t-shirt singing next to Neal X on guitar and a bass player (sorry - don't know name!) to the left. (Someone with an iPad - ? - in the middle.) Apologies for the pic - I was at the back and it was packed in there. They all looked way cooler than this.

A 45-minute space disco version of 'Little Drummer Boy'? With a 50 piece Norwegian male voice choir? And Martin Horntveth as the drummer? Yes please! Lindstrøm bringing in the festive season in sublime fashion last night at Aviva Studios in Manchester.
Musician Lindstrøm behind a console to the left; the Vålerenga Mannskor choir holding candles in the middle; and drummer with a side drum to the right. Blue light. The back of someone's head.

Quite the strangest 7" I might have ever found: a-side is a recording of French baroque composer Marin Marais' 'Tableau of a Lithotomy', then the b-side is a recording of a drug salesman telling a doctor why he should use their new laxative.
