Genuinely cannot fucking stand having a mustache. I do not know people put up with it. It feels like there's a hot rat on my upper lip. It makes kissing AND eating worse. I try it every now and again to see if I feel I different and every time I remember how much it sucks. Hate it hate it hate it.

I feel like, when I encounter art that doesn't depict people like me, the distance between me and the protagonists allows me to suspend my willing suspension of disbelief a bit easier. Otherwise I get stuck in a rut of "why the hell are they behaving like that, can they fucking grow up already"

I maintain that giving art recommendations to friends is fundamentally an act of love. At the same time, saying to someone "You are X; Y contains X; therefore you must love Y" has always struck me as kind of condescending, and has basically never worked for me
