It's been two weeks and change so whatever, spoiler barriers are down. Here's the concept art I did for the NGLM Volckmann, our game's final boss. Left is the final design, right is the initial sketch. I retained the idea of the "pilot in a jar" but adjusted pretty much everything else.

This is a great addition to the character action video game line-up. The systems and how each interact with each other are pretty neat. For example, melee and dash are on the same resource you have to manage. This may sound daunting, but shooting replenishes both the dash and the melee, which creates this cool interplay between mixing in shots, dashing in, and doing melee. This is on top of the shield being tied to another resource, as well as special attacks tied to a different meter. There's a lot going on and I find it compelling.

Platforming is present and it's a bit temperamental. I think it's okay but I could see how people could find it frustrating.

My personal nitpick is I wish that the charge attack, especially the aerial version, lingers just a teeny bit longer.

Still putting time into this. Really stylish. Feels really good after tweaking the camera sens. I kept going ooh when I pressed a button during the recovery animation of another move and something new happened. Good game to go ooooh too. Had the first boss fight with the bilingual cop robot and went whoa. Love that guy. Hate that guy.
