Saved this to my phone a few years back. Truer every day.
A cartoon by "The Gentleman's Armchair." In the first panel the devil pesters god "Come on! Just let me create one thing!" And God responds with "Oh for Pete's sake... fine." In the second panel the Devil is in a close-up going "...Jackpot..." The third panel shows a goose.

So I edited this story. And I wanna share on thought on language, & telling the truth We talked about: the "government is lying to you" It may sound saucy. It may sound like opinion But it's just true And if something is true then you should just say it, clearly That's just good journalism

Great example of how bad most entertainment journalists are because the second someone bothers to even start to probe the limits of this thing's abilities it starts buffering and then just goes "ha ha wow you're trying to trip me up"

One of the things that really shocked me when I moved to London for a few months in 2024 was when I would check my weather app and the air quality was so much better than in my small city in rural Kentucky.

Why are markets today so disconnected from the real world? Part of the answer is the financial press. “Trump could end war early”? Are you serious? We’re in the 6th month of a war that was supposed to take days. And he can’t end it early. He got the US in position where Iran decides when it ends.
Marketwatch.com headline 8/10/26: Dow set for steady start as S&P, Nasdaq eye gains on cooling rate fears, report Trump could end war early

40 years ago, it was so common for men to have a beautiful house with a beautiful wife that he would frequently confuse them for another’s. Sometimes they wouldn’t even know how they had arrived at said location in a large automobile. Now the days have gone by and men struggle to achieve either.

But because American, like most airlines, I expect, runs on such thin margins in terms of fuel and staff, our flight was delayed almost 3 hours. No previous delay, no mechanical error, just not enough fuel to fly around some weather and a cascade of failures that followed. Hope this person made it.

In doing so, the crew's first officer timed out and needed to be replaced. So we sat in the plane waiting for a new first officer and as we did so, the whole rest of the crew timed out. So they deplaned us while we waited for the new crew. And they eventually arrived...

We board the plane and start taxiing and then we're just sitting on the tarmac. After a while the pilot gets on and tells us that because of bad weather in Gainesville, we're going to have to go 200 miles out of our way, so we need to get more fuel and are headed back to the terminal...

Ok, so this person's experience was worse than mine, but his story was incredibly familiar. In March, I was flying from Orlando to Louisville on American. I had a layover in Philadelphia. My plane out of Louisville was mildly delayed, but I had a significant layover so I made my connection...
