A sticky situation: measures of high humid heat in 2025 mostly ranked the 3rd or 4th highest ever (below the El Niño-driven records of 2023 and 2024). East & South Asia were particularly struck by oppressive conditions, with up to 100 days seeing values historically reached on only 36 days.
