Nominal wage growth continued to slow in May, now 3.4% over the year. Is A.I. leading to job losses? Hiring has been weak in many white-collar industries, although Information is the only one that has been consistently cutting jobs. Seems early to declare this an A.I. effect, but it is not inconsistent with a story of reduced hiring in part because of A.I.
