Lackadaisical about social media. I’m here for weird Anglicans, theology, fountain pens, books, cats, and memes. Big Bend enthusiast. Seminarian (go Thuribulls!) and Candidate for the priesthood in the Episcopal Church. She/her.

I went outside and ran errands. That was a poor life choice. Why do we even need August, anyway?

"AI" has existed in its current form for barely four years and the fact that it's jammed up the cognitive development of an entire generation that fast (and that there's a specific overclass of techofascists who are deeply thrilled about this) is a big damn red flag. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/17/u...

What Do Students Lose When They Stop Writing? (Gift Article)
Educators are worried that many students can no longer write essays without A.I. And it’s costing more than just grammar skills.

Another #TinyJoy - finding the mate to my favorite pair of Darn Tough socks, lost long enough ago I was sure it was gone forever. How it ended up in a reusable grocery bag will remain mysterious.

I'm watching two beloved classmates be ordained to the diaconate on livestream, and it turns out I cry just as much watching videos of ordinations as I do in person. The Church gained blessings today, amen.

I have so much to do today, and yet I am sitting here watching The Local Project vids on gorgeous architect-designed modern homes. They are just so *pretty*.

After a month plus of back and forth with AT&T about the unexplained removal of my watch from my account, and three tickets trying to add it back (which is something they aren't easily able to do, I guess), it has cell service again. A #tinyjoy in terms of the "problem," but hard-won, nonetheless.

I would never vote for Paxton anyway, but as a fountain pen person, this ad is effective. James Talarico won’t steal your pen.

I'd have to wash and dry it all first, and that feels Herculean today. Maybe tomorrow.

To all of the fountain pen people - has anyone found a good replacement for Iroshizuku Kiri-same? I have one bottle left, and it's time to start auditioning gray inks. Thank you! #fountainpens

Drafting a sermon longhand with my favorite fountain pen and good paper is life-changing, and I don’t know why I haven’t done this before.

“What a beautiful universe, hon" says a telescope as gazes upon an aurora borealis. “It really is”, responds the telescope's partner, who it turns out is not a telescope, but a microscope. Hands full of algae, she wades waist deep in a disgusting swamp, amazed by the heavenly microscopic life all around them.

If I "take a nap" at 7:00 pm, I just make be wide awake a 4:30 am. Since I was awake at an hour that used to be my bedtime, I did morning prayer from the books, instead of using an app. I should do that more often, it's so peaceful in the pre-dawn darkness.

I have a question for TEC clergy, seminarians, and lay folk who have served on a parish lay committee for a candidate's field ed training - what sort of things did you discuss in the committee? Sermon feedback, for sure, but what other kinds of topics were helpful with the committee? #TEC 🕯️

One time, a very long time ago, American Express sent a pre-approved credit card offer to “Episcopal Christ.” The rector of Christ Church Episcopal responded appropriately.
Letter to Amex from Rodger Woods dated 4/16/1990, declining a pre-approved credit card offer to Christ - “I am sure that should He ever decide to store up things on earth, rather than in heaven, that one of your cards might be just what He needs.”

On brioche with mayo (by which I mean Hellman's), salt, and fresh cracked pepper, served open faced. Add some pour over iced coffee with it for extra summer bliss.

One of the wonderful women who makes everything happen at my field ed parish will cook for me and the other seminarian, especially during finals. This week, she sent us home with chicken pot pies ready to bake. My apartment smells ah-mazing. Chicken pot pie is an entire love language.

Many people mispronounce my last name even after multiple corrections - it’s pronounced Kluff rather than Klow or Kloe. I don’t like it, but I’m resigned to it, mostly because repeatedly correcting someone feels rude and uncharitable after a while.
