Lackadaisical about social media. I’m here for weird Anglicans, theology, fountain pens, books, cats, and memes. Big Bend enthusiast. Seminarian (go Thuribulls!) and Candidate for the priesthood in the Episcopal Church. She/her.

You posted this in your outside voice, perhaps that was a mistake?

One time, a very long time ago, American Express sent a pre-approved credit card offer to “Episcopal Christ.” The rector of Christ Church Episcopal responded appropriately.
Letter to Amex from Rodger Woods dated 4/16/1990, declining a pre-approved credit card offer to Christ - “I am sure that should He ever decide to store up things on earth, rather than in heaven, that one of your cards might be just what He needs.”

If I need to spend a rainy day indoors writing, this is a lovely place to do so.

It’s a slow summer morning, the best time for breaking out the chemex and making slow coffee.

Living alone means just dumping granola into the last of the yogurt in the large yogurt tub and crunching away, free of self-consciousness or decorum.

I really enjoyed Texts After Terror, and I find her “fuzzy, messy, messy icky” framework valuable. I look forward to this one (I love interlibrary loan).

The awkward sacristy photo: it’s tradition.
Pale white woman wearing a cassock and surplice, not quite making eye contact with the camera. Awkward af.

One day I will put on a sheet mask without feeling the urge to read about Xipe Totec, but today is not that day.
A face wearing a mask made of another face, Hannibal style, carved in green, smooth stone. A representation of Xipe Totec, an Aztec god.

One of my pastors, mentors, and the beloved Associate Rector of my sending parish was just elected Bishop Suffragan of the diocese next door. I'm so happy for her I don't know what to do with myself. She's going to be great.

This is the reading list for Liturgical Theology I at SSW. The recommended books are not really optional. There are two other Lit Theo classes after this one, Hatchett might turn up. The joy of hunting for out of print books, lol.

It’s been a difficult week. My sweet baby kitty Saké had a major stroke and crossed the rainbow bridge very early Friday morning at the emergency vet. After almost 17 years, I held her at the end. My heart is in a million little pieces. Give your pets extra love today.
The Most Interesting Calico in the World. Completely adorable cat, being adorable.

I picked up an NRSVue journaling bible, and I know that pretty cream cloth cover will not stand up to the drops and coffee spills my daily use bible endures. An extra copy of E&A 101, and some junior high GenX kid skills — solved. Conklin Endura abalone mugging for the camera is bonus.

The bluebonnets are blooming in the Big Bend! I love the desert bluebonnets, the taller, scrappier sibling to the shorter ones elsewhere in the state. Bluebonnets that just might fight you if you try to squat amongst them. Photo from Big Bend Times FB page.

My office lighting is hecking terrible, wow. The pen of the day is a Sailor Pro Gear with a medium-fine nib, inked up with Iroshizuku Shin-kai. My grasp of what day of the week it is is shaky and prone to error. My enthusiasm for the dishes I left in the sink last night is nonexistent.

It’s Spotify wrapped time, and I’m a vampire, I guess. My top song this year was “You Want It Darker” by Leonard Cohen, because…reasons.
Spotify wrapped screenshot saying “Vampire: When it comes to listening, you like to embrace a little…darkness. You listen to emotional, atmospheric music more than most.”
