Hi, new folks! I'm an indie author of paranormal romances about Black lesbians healing from their pasts. My current WIP is an erotic horror novel. I started my publishing journey with short stories and poetry. My debut novel THE FALL THAT SAVED US is a winner of the 2023 Indie Ink Award.
An illustrated book cover featuring two Black figures posed like Michelangelo's painting The Creation of Adam. At the top of the cover, a horned succubus with wings reaches towards a haloed woman with braids. The angelic woman is dressed in white and holds a dagger in her right hand. Illustration by Syd Mills (@vetyyr)An illustrated book cover featuring a background of silvery slender trees. On the right, a Black woman with short bleached hair wears an oversized leather jacket. Her eyes shine red as she meets the devoted gaze of the red wolf on her left. One hand gently holds the wolf's chin. The other is placed reverently on the wolf's mouth. The title text A WOLF STEPS IN BLOOD is set in a mysterious, sharp serif. Illustration and design by Northyme

I'll take an adventure thriller with - female/queer protagonist(s) - extreme wilderness - extra points for the Appalachian Trail - or Australian outback I definitely recommend - Heartwood by Amity Gaige & Morsel by Carter Keane (Neither on Bluesky, but Keane's author bio on Goodreads is 😘👌) ✌️🖤🥾⛰️📚
Cover of Novel 'Heartwood' by Amity Gauge, featuring the silhouette of a woman crafted out of trees. Statements say the book is 'impossible to put down' and 'an absolute must read'Cover of Novel 'Morsel' by Carter Keane, featuring a gothic type botanical drawing against a solid black background. Has a quote below the title that reads 'bite the hand that feeds you' and an author blurb at the bottoms says 'goes all in with teeth bared. absolutely delicious'

Ripped through @carterkeane.bsky.social debut Morsel in less than 24 hours and adored every bloodthirsty page. It's full of desperate love and furious anger and abject horror at the toll that society demands from us and it's precisely the kind of book I want to read right now.

Just read Morsel by @carterkeane.bsky.social and it's one of those stories that makes you ravenous to go read everything else by the author and discovering that this was a DEBUT was wild. It's a masterpiece of gorey anti-capitalist horror in the best way, with some legitimate all-time best tension.

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept." Astonishing thing for a judge to do.
Philadelphia, September 17, 1787: "Well, Dr. Franklin, what do we have?" "A republic, if you
can keep it."
With a judicial finger in the constitutional dike,
It is so ORDERED.
SIGNED this 31st day of February, 2026.

COSMIC DYKE PATROL comes out in two weeks and this review from my bud @ericraglin1992.bsky.social made me tear up 😭 @ghoulish.bsky.social
A book review for Cosmic Dyke Patrol, it reads "I remember Lor telling me the title of this book a few years back, and I wanted it in my hands right that second. Finally having read Cosmic Dyke Patrol, I can say that it was worth the wait!

The big highlights:
-Fun, weird, interdimensional horror
-Well-developed characters who I really cared about (and a great meet cute, too!)
-Hot (and sometimes very strange!) sex scenes
-Rad dialogue (something Lor excels at)

The book feels a little like a prologue to a larger story, but that might just be me wishing we got more time with the patrollers. Not really a critique though--just something worth noting!"

Agreed. I think it's even worse: many politicians don't WANT people to do more than give money and vote. They don't want people calling them about issues, questioning their decisions. I strongly prefer politicians who come out of activism, actually care about things, and want to involve community.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports. And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.” Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

it's incredible how if you put this entire dialog into the Left Behind series, it would basically work, but instead it's just IRL MN
"Sir! This is a warning!" the agent yelled as he punched the man's vehicle window. "Stop f—king following us! You are impeding operations! This is the United States federal government!"

"I live over here," the driver explained. "I got to get to my house."

"This is your warning!" the officer exclaimed.

"I serve the Lord; go to church," the resident replied.

"I will arrest you!" the officer threatened.

"Don't make a bad decision," another agent warned.

"I serve the Lord," the driver repeated. "Not a draft-dodging coward."

"Let these people go to church," the driver added. "Let these people serve the Lord and worship."

"You're not going to like the outcome of this, sir," the first officer said. "I guarantee that... Did you not learn from what just happened [when Renee Good was killed]?"

"Learn what?" the driver asked. "I serve the Lord, not a draft-dodging coward. I can't believe you'd take orders from a draft dodger."

I’m not a Star Trek fan or even a casual viewer, so I was content to mostly ignore this new Starfleet Academy show. As an ace/aro person, the weird framing of sex as compulsory tells me ignoring it is the right call.
"“You can’t tell stories about young people at that particular moment in time without having a lot of sex in the show. You just can’t,” Kurtzman (also correctly) added. “However, it’s still Star Trek, right? And so what you never want is for it to be gratuitous. I think that would turn everybody off in all the wrong ways.”"
