Trades. crafts, apprenticeships all gaining in respect as alternatives to absurdly expensive college ... unless the trade in question is perceived as women's work. Cosmetology doesn't pay as a craft/trade because it is licensed & regulated in a way that ensures it doesn't.

I persuaded Monty to be cute in autumn leaves. It involved a bribe. He really isn't into posing or looking at me when there's stuff to sniff. #Photography #SeattleWashington #SeattleAutumn #CowenPark #SeattleParks #DogsOfBluesky #AutumnColors

There are SO many ways for siblings & heads of family to set real boundaries on what is acceptable behavior. A whole lot of people just opted for "sweep it under the rug" instead. And then we act surprised that the rug is now lumpy as hell & approximately at eye level.

Righteous spices #Photography #Halloween2026 #OurNeighborhood #SeattleAutumn #SeattleWashington
An ornate plaster spice rack, with the appearance of wood, with the label "Ingredients" sits amid the dying leaves on a lawn. The rack has two shelves. There is a small skeleton leaning on the left side of the rack. Behind the skeleton there are various jars. A large black jar is labeled "Venom." A white skull jar with a gold lid is next. Then a small white jar labeled "Spider Eyes." The a green jar with an illegible label. The second shelf has a white, black, red and black jar with more well worn, illegible labels. Might these be ingredients be for the brew in a witch's cauldron?

A tapestry of autumn's jewel-like colors in the berry caned #Photography #SeattleWashington #SeattleAutumn #OurHouse #OurGarden #FallColors
Fall strips the mask of green green chlorophyll away from leaves, and all the other accessory pigments show up in glowing reds, yellows, and oranges, sometimes overlaying green remnants. This batch of berry leaves even has red stems now, and a few leaves are fraying and fading into browns and tans.

Accessory pigments also collect light energy and transfer it to chlorophyll. They often have familiar names, being associated with antioxidants and good health : carotenoids, xanthophylls, and so forth.

Another trophy, a scuba mask, the brass plate saying " Bali 2019"! A third trophy, a yellow pair of sea goggles with a green snorkel, the brass plate saying "Florida 2022"! The reason I don't want a
"Christian nation" isn't because
I'm against Christianity.
It's because I've studied church history and learned about the horrors caused by the church pursuing political dominion.
Separation of church and state doesn't just help protect religious freedom, it helps keep Christianity Christian rather than becoming indistinguishable from the empire.

A high contrast, dramatic, vertical, sunset shot of the Chevron Headquarters (formerly the Enron Center) skyscrapers at 1400 Smith Street and 1500 Louisiana Street, the two connected by an elevated circular pedestrian skybridge in downtown Houston.

The complex was designed by the internationally renowned architect César Pelli in a sleek, highly articulated Postmodern style. Completed in 2002, the lozenge-shaped tower is wrapped in reflective glass and features a dramatic circular skybridge that intentionally breaks from the standard local street grid.
