This week's comic on the pleasures of grocery shopping in 2026
Mr. Mrs. Perkins go grocery shopping 2026

Wasn’t that lettuce recalled for gut-exploding bacteria?

They said it might be OK in this state…

And look, it’s on sale!

Bags of lettuce from Grody farms 25% off

My, things have gotten expensive. Mr. P looks at Tariff Cheese priced $79 per pound

Looks like we can only afford the industrial poultry. Mrs. P looks at the Sad chicken section where

Thighs of Despair are offered at $3.99 per pound

This breakfast cereal used to be $4.50 for a large box. Now it’s $9 for this. Mr. P is holding a tiny box of Honey Chomps

This one is now priced by the flake. Mrs. P is holding a bag of cereal that costs 10¢ per wheat unit

Both look at hot dogs of dubious origin

Cheap

You’d never know the stock markets at an all-time high.

Yeah, it seems the supermarket has hit an all-time low.

This week's comic: The Big Picture
For millennia…

Barbarism prevails, might makes right

Dominant religious groups persecute “heretics”

Racial hierarchy entrenched

Gender hierarchy entrenched

Non-straight people ostracized

Finally in the second half of the 20th century
Woman: At last, a bit of fairness and equality!

And then…
Pompous guy: Here’s an outside-the-box idea! What if we tried traditional hierarchies?

This week's comic on the folly of triangulating with oligarchs
The trouble with oligarchy-curious Dems

Actual Democrats aren’t inspired to vote for them

Politician on TV: I’m so open-minded, I voted for all of Trump’s nominees, and I love data centers!

Woman in chair: I’m staying home.

Republicans won’t vote for them

Voter at ballot box: A demon-CRAT?

No way!

Low-info swing voters aren’t concerned with performative “centrism”

Guy walking out of convenience store with case of Brapp Lite: I just like the guy who yells.

Triangulation: It finds the sweet spot!

Consultant: We’ve zeroed in on one voter named Gus.

This week's comic on a tiresome bit of trollery
Playing the jealousy card

A couple walking through the woods on a hike

Woman: Whenever anyone says billionaires shouldn’t exist, or that there’s too much economic inequality, some wiseguy always replies that they’re just “jealous.”

Woman: But I don’t want a 15,000 square foot house, let alone six of them, or a yacht, or a private pedophilia island.

Woman: These grotesque narcissists are hoarding the nation’s wealth while making it harder for the rest of us to succeed--or afford healthcare or housing, or enjoy a livable planet!

Man: But you have to admit, a billionaire and data center-free private island would be pretty sweet.

Woman: Yyyeah...

Man, facetiously: See? Jealous.

Person on Earth in spot being lit by space mirror: What the.?

Among other things, the company promises “unforgettable nighttime experiences for events and public spaces.”

Owl: Not another @&!# midnight corporate retreat!

Besides messing up circadian rhythms, animal navigation, and entire ecosystems, what could go wrong?
