Gerald and I both know the importance of therapy, having grown up with a violent father, but we didn't have the means to pursue treatment until adulthood. We're hoping to help his kids grow into young adults with the right tools to manage their trauma, so they don't have to learn it later as we did.

Years of litigation costs are still dragging the family down, and both kids are now in therapy and working to heal the damage from years of trauma: they're doing well in school, music, and sports, and my brother is now looking to secure funding to ensure they can continue necessary trauma therapy.

We did a lot of labs that crossed into frequencies in the “longwave” region and I recall the lm358 because it was good for such a wide bandwidth right up to about a MHz. Been so long since I played with wibbly waves in their analog form though 😰

That teacher had been unfair before, and claiming I used foul language was pretty serious, so my parents demanded a private meeting with the principal… My mother insists my father didn’t raise his voice, but suffice it to say, the school administrators were always kind to me after that incident.

In 5th grade, I told a kid who insulted me to “shut your big ugly mouth!” My teacher somehow heard “… big fucking mouth!” I was immediately suspended from school for a day and banned from performing in the choral show that week.

It’s pretty typical to need a splitter for attenuation on circuits dedicated to a single modem instead of multiple household TVs/STBs. My Comcast Business circuit needed a 4 port split to drop ~7.5dB to avoid overdriving the modem. Signal levels from the pole are usually hot enough for 4+ receivers.

My student loan applications for the following school year were rejected due to the hospital “payment plan” being a collections account. The school said I couldn’t have any student loan money or student aid until all my existing accounts were “current”. I had to move all the debt to new credit cards

I had an emergency appendectomy 24 years ago, after it burst suddenly one night, with no symptoms or warning signs, my Freshman year of college: and it *did* bankrupt me. It nearly prevented me from continuing through school after my Freshman year of undergrad.
