Hey everyone, quick update about the WebCanids merch shop (the one with the shirts, cups, etc).

Hi everyone,

I've run into issues with the platform I made the WebCanids merch shop on (Fourthwall/FW). It seemed like a good choice at first but has quickly proven otherwise.

Right after launch I started having site functionality problems that only appeared once live, and while working on figuring it out, just Thursday it came to light that FW made a deal with ChatGPT of all things.

While they say it's optional, I don't trust a "creator" platform that includes it. If FW can do this, who knows what other anticreator/anticonsumer stuff they'll do. When I and other users tried to voice our concerns... crickets. This is unacceptable and I can't justify using FW at this point.

For now I've reduced the store to just customer service. For prior orders (firstly, thank you), they're still on the way as normal, however you can always contact me/customer service if you have a concern. The separate sticker shop is still working fine too.

I already have a few candidates for replacement platforms, but it might take time to set up. I'm very sorry about all this. I'm also very angry about all this.

Elsie, Alice, and Jessie sit and talk in front at a table.

Alice Elizabeth Shelton was the keeper of Half Moon Island lighthouse. Alone in the middle of the sea, she sometimes wondered if there was more to life than what she was living.

Now in the role that her father lost his life to, Alice was obsessed with safety and had a strong anxiety around water. Even so, she wished to see more of the world and write the ultimate story.

Alice is inspired by a mix of women lighthouse keepers such as Ida Lewis, Abbie Burgess, Elizabeth Williams, Fannie Salter, and Kate Walker. She is also inspired by Mary Shelley.

Elsie Zerda Adams was an exploratory airplane pilot (“aviatrix”) originally from a family of strawberry farmers.

Now a public figure after prior adventures, Elsie wished to revolutionize the world of flight. Despite impressive records and lofty goals, she faced adversity at every turn.

Elsie is inspired by legendary early women aviators such as Amelia Earhart, Neta Snook, Lady Mary Heath, and Lady Bailey.

Jessica Florence Greenflower was initially a stewardess aboard the ocean liner SS Aberratica.

Though she was dedicated to her job, she became frustrated with the suffocating circumstances. Even at the best of times she found it difficult to find meaning or connection with anything... or anyone.

Jessie is inspired by a mix of Violet Jessop (survivor of the Olympic - Hawke crash and sinkings of Titanic and Britannic) and (in smaller part) legendary nurse and statistician Florence Nightingale.
