However, if you do get hurt by a car, your payout is capped; hope you don't need lifelong expensive care from a car crash.

Honestly, the UCP is not for corporations on this one; they obliged insurers to take every clients who comes to them, and capped fees. So that terrible driver with a history of accidents? They get cheap insurance, and the rest of us pay the price.

When you brought it up on bsky, in this thread, the only criticism that you raised was that other people should get better at disagreeing. And the "Thanks for the tip!" is disingenuous; this a counter-example of engaging in respectful conversations.

I think that immigration is good for Canada. I also agree that we need to be more organized about it. One major issue was poorly governed diploma mills being used as a loophole for illegal heap labour. My understanding is that we can thank Ontario's Ford government for most of this.

No single option is the best for all people, at all times. Sometimes I bike. Sometimes I take the train or bus. Sometimes I drive. There's no thriving city of two million people that succeeds with only one way of getting around. Calgarians need to be able to choose what works best for their family.

The City of Ottawa posted the raw speed data from before and after Doug Ford banned speed cameras and the effect is so obvious it's not even necessary put a line marking when that happened. This chart shows the percentage of drivers going 15km/h or more over the posted limit.
