Someone was talking about PAC being stoic at meet & greets on Twitter, so it reminded me of this anecdote.

Small child in red flannel and blue jeans standing next to PAC with long hair, wearing black AEW hoodie and shorts. Both are wearing facemasks.

Nolie met PAC at a Dynamite, when AEW was still doing preshow meet and greets.

They both looked each other up and down. Then PAC stoically says “How is your day, little child?”.

When it was picture time, he plainly said “Stand with me in battle” to Nolie.

It was perfect.

Andy was a gentle & kind mountain of a man. He looked like he could throw you through a wall (he could if he wanted!) but was so warmhearted & soft spoken. I would affectionately call him father & we immediately bonded over our love of dogs. He will be forever missed.

Let's not mince words about what happened: Yes, various people around wrestling heard by midnight that Andy died. But they were asked not to say anything publicly until the family was notified. (And if they weren't told, it was common sense.) Random podcaster disregarded that and RSN ran with it.

I saw The Butcher live once in Toronto, and he was always a fun addition to the AEW roster. What I remember most though is in 2021, my partner was in the hospital with a bad case of COVID and he DMed his concern and well-wishes. I'll never forget that. RIP Andy Williams.

My only comment: they thoroughly vet everyone who is on the stream. They'll check your social media, any drama that happened, any past they can find. If they do that for streamers, they should do that for sponsors. Good they changed course on this, but it's sloppy.
