Cycling is a climate, transit, and public safety issue. I convened a roundtable with advocates to discuss how we can make our communities safer and more accessible for pedestrians, cyclist, & commuters across the #MA7.

In @csindie.bsky.social: "After more than a year of in-person and virtual community meetings that refined these designs, curb work will begin in the next few months. Unless, that is, the Cambridge City Council votes for a policy order to delay this work for five years." csindie.com/close-the-ga...

Close the gap between Cambridge and Belmont now, not with a five-year delay - Cambridge | Somerville Independent
The city can address tradeoffs and connect our communities via Outer Huron. Declaring a five-year delay at the very end of this deliberative process would be a mistake.

Riders 8 to 80ish braved the drizzle to commemorate the completion of the Broadway bike lanes. Schools, day cares, museums, and multiple neighborhoods now benefit from better pedestrian crossings, signage, and protected micromobility travel. Thank you to the many who spoke up over the years.

People roll their eyes when we complain about bike lanes protected by just paint or plastic sticks, but paint doesn't stop multi-ton vehicles. Look at the force required to move these concrete barriers. This is exactly why solid physical protection is the only acceptable standard.
