EMS training review: In addition to other ongoing training, the EMS Division has been running a class on Adult Respiratory Case Simulations, maintaining the EMS skills level of our firefighters. All companies, all groups will rotate through this program. Photos are from June 25, group 3 on duty.

Simple Safety Reminder: Clean your clothes dryer lint filter after each use! The USFA (United States Fire Administration) reports that there are approximately 2,900 residential dryer fires per year nationwide. Most of these are caused by an excessive accumulation of lint. Help to prevent fires.

#CambridgeMAFireLODDhistory: On 20 May 1940, Firefighter Daniel "Dick" J. Holleran of Engine Company No. 3 died in the line of duty at Box 191 as a result of being overcome by fire gases while working at a cellar fire at 164 Spring St. Firefighter Holleran was 66 years old.

#TBT from 1940s-1960s: Fog Unit 1 was a 1943 International high-pressure fog unit acquired from the US Navy & assigned as the second section of the 2-piece Rescue Company 1 in 1947. This piece ran with Rescue 1 until 1960, when it was reassigned to Engine 1.
