I'm sipping gazpacho from a mug during the day to stay sane. Dutch heat is relentless, it feels so much hotter than it is. 2kg of local cherries in the fridge. Naked oats with fried finely sliced onion, bacon and peppers. Young broad beans, briefly boiled. Olive oil, lemon juice, feta.

Afaik no restrictions, they like a lot. They just want to learn so they can cook for themselves when they move out (lives in CZ). I think the most important bit for them is not too complicated, as they find it a bit daunting and will get overwhelmed by many ingredients and long instructions.

I'm with you on liquorice and celery! I'm ok with cooked celery in small pieces for pasta sauces and such, but to just chew on a raw chunk - nononoooo. Soap sticks.

Ages ago @toonspin.nl joked that his friend with an onion allergy would die even coming near my house. Every time I do something like this it still pops up in my mind and makes me laugh. 😂 8 onions gently frying, batch cooking sauces for the freezer.

Haha I've had something very similar written at first, but decided to remove it not to start a fuss. But yes, very much agree. The hype over food words to hate in general annoys me (and I've seen threads and threads dedicated to it). To each their own, I prefer to call my cakes ✨️m o i s t✨️.

Just FYI there’s an account on here called @redditspaceviewes.bsky.social (with over 200k followers) that is posting a bunch of AI slop (including a “Saturn polar hexagon” with 8 sides) and claiming it’s NASA imagery. If you see anything posted by them, it’s likely fake.

I don't dare truly rejoice yet, but I have the feeling that after months my immunosuppressants finally started working. My appetite is returning with a vengance and I plan on making good use of it. Afternoon snack - banana pancakes, bacon, maple syrup. 😁
