THE SNOW SERPENT
Begin with an ozempic moon
Begin with the conjuring moon
My house has a name & it is: Revolution
Skin
My dress has a name & it is: Sleeps in Snow
I am all about necklines —the vaulting V of them
I have been interred
I have been enfurred
I have been sable collared, once again This feels a lot like a mammal in a clutch This feels a lot like a mammal giving up I am very very relaxed Ballerina like —I am nothing but neck
I am an anesthetized snake at an acupuncturist
Flowers grow out of every needle stick
I am half frozen
To congeal is wed snow with blood
My blood is blue
My blood is cold
My body is nothing but a line of sky colored hyacinths
Snow is what falls
into them

happy #smallpoemsunday! 💜 feel free to participate by posting small poems you wrote, +/or small poems you love by somebody else :) a special one today, one of my favorite small poems of all time by James Schuyler:
Closed Gentian Distances

A nothing day full of
wild beauty and the
timer pings. Roll up
the silver off the bay
take down the clouds
sort the spruce and
send to laundry marked
more starch. Goodbye
golden- and silver-
rod, asters, bayberry
crisp in elegance.
Little fish stream
by, a river in water.

MEMBRANE MEMORANDA
I am in the chimney room Which is directly above the toaster room The walls are midnight black Like horse's hooves The air in the room is also midnight black I breathe it There is a square cut in ceiling to let in objects such as birds or the moon Directly below this square there is another square Down on the floor Which is where I am sitting right now This lower square is a slab of ice It is luminous 3 inches from my left kneecap there lies a little mallet It is tethered to a maze of pipes-also midnight black
The pipes sometimes clang like someone might be in the basement Every night At 2am
My job is to break up the ice with the mallet Oftentimes Under the ice There lie paper-like sheets Covered in words Three layers thick Sometimes When I hold a sheet Inked like calves skin Up to the moon I can see night flowers Or my own hands

You make a better window than a door is something I hear all the time
I am going to window this refrigerator
Like a vitrine
Like a vitreous cabinet
Like a kind of bookcase
I am going to window this house

If 404 represents the ancient starless true north then the quincunx would be the current Polaris configuration Somewhere in my travels Ive come across a quincunx poetics which i can no longer find Can anyone out there help with this?

Some Cakes
SOME CAKES
Some cakes get you out of prison
Some cakes get turned up side down Some cakes are how stripteases begin
Some cakes are food for devils
Some cakes are very very dense
Some cakes are like 90% frosting
Some cakes fall in
Some cakes come in cursive
Some cakes are deeply layered
Some cakes are completely bananas
Some cakes are just nuts
Some cakes are shaped like objects & we call these 'concrete'
Some cakes are houses & these are best avoided
Some cakes hide vegetables in them
Some cakes are covered in flowers
Some cakes are covered in flames
Some cakes are covered with inedible semi-poisonous decorations, but these are mostly for children
Some cakes are ruched as coffins
Some cakes look like beds
Some cakes are moth filled ruins & we write novels about them
Some cakes revolve in glass cases like relics Some cakes are filled with old fruit & bits of meat & hidden objects & come doused in rum & are wrapped in moldering gauzes & are stored like bricks for like literally years & are universally despised by pretty much everyone & if any cake on this list gets to be called a poem, it's this one

THE WHITE DOVES

The doves at home
are white as sails.
Yet I have told no one about them.

They act as curtains when I sleep
and curtains while I wake.

My love, if I die.Untitled

That windshield-wiper laugh. It’s summer on another planet, one with shorter years. Pinpricks of history deflating our stable point in the orbit. An Austrian grape, too sweet to make wine from, pops in the sun.
Limp lemon father, clockmaker, go nowhere that love wouldn’t go
