If you look closely you should be able to see what is known as the ‘Roman Bridge’ over the Afon Machno. It is festooned in Ivy high above the gorge & difficult to see at first. It is more likely to be a 16th/17th c pack horse bridge despite lying on the Sarn Helen Roman road route.

“Mirror, mirror on the wall …” This large #Roman silver mirror was discovered leaning against a wall of the Forum at Wroxeter (Viroconium) during excavations between 1923-27. One of the most impressive Roman silver objects found in Britain! Dated 3rd century AD. 📷 by me #FindsFriday #Archaeology
My photo shows a large Roman silver mirror measuring 30 cm in diameter, the size of a large dinner plate. My photo shows the back of the mirror which has a handle in the shape of a Herakles knot with ornate floral decoration. There is a decorative garland-like border around the circumference of the mirror made up of leaves, berries, and flowers. The front of the mirror (not shown) is convex and would have been highly-polished to see a reflection.

This luxury item of late Roman silverware was imported to Britain from the Rhineland (Germany). This type of mirror is known from a grave relief from Neumagen Grmany showing a woman with a servant or enslaved person holding up a similar mirror in front of her. There is also a fresco panel from the imperial palace at Trier, Germany, which shows a woman holding a similar mirror.

You have to admire the chutzpah of the BBC’s response to the Trump lawsuit www.ft.com/content/d2a0...
In response, the BBC has sought to identify the financial impact of the documentary, including serving a subpoena on the Donald J Trump Revocable Trust, which holds the president's business interests and assets. It is managed by his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, who is the sole trustee.
The BBC legal team has requested the production of financial documents that reflect its holdings and value, assets, inventories and lists of properties held. This includes information regarding almost 400 entities owned by or associated with the trust, as well as requests for tax returns, according to court filings in May.
