In the early Middle Ages, the Anglo-Saxons developed a “Little England” in Rome. New research from @rorynaismith.bsky.social @francescatinti.bsky.social @department-asnc.bsky.social suggests that early English expats avoided ‘travel money’ hassle thanks to the Pope. More: bit.ly/4hrFfKc
