I really like my new #RNLI wooly hat. It has arrived just in time for the coming cooler autumn days 😊

#BirdOfTheDay Alt theme from @robcrank68.bsky.social is #Pigeons&Doves so here is a Collared Dove on my birdbath.

A Collared Dove with soft grey plumage stands on a beige stone bidbath, its claws curled around the rim, whilst looking down to the left. The background is an indistinct blur of brown and green foliage.

Another video of the two Wood Pigeon chicks being fed by their mother. They are so adorable. #pigeons #birds

Wonder how many of those black-shirted thugs would volunteer to go out in a horrific storm in order to save someone in trouble. It takes a lot to capsize a lifeboat, and the RNLI deserves our support and thanks. Their bravery was tested in February 2020 during Storm Ciara, and we don't forget.

Two pictures of the Hastings Lifeboat battling a raging sea during Storm Ciara in February 2020. The first picture shows it rearing out above a wind whipped wave, and the second picture shows the lifeboat on its side in a position that you never want to be in.

It won’t stop these reprehensible, cowardly pieces of shit attacking the RNLI, but here is a handy link to donate rnli.org/support-us/g...

We had a Wood Pigeon nesting in our Hawthorn tree this year and here the mother is feeding the juveniles. One gets impatient and jumps upon the mother's back. #birds #pigeons

A bit late in the day, but here is my favourite ever bird, a lovely woodpigeon for #BirdOfTheDay pigeons theme.

A woodpigon in soft grey plumage sits on the ground in a grassy garden, huddled up against the cold wind, next to some cowslip flowers

A juvenile blackbird from a nest in my ivy in the garden. #birds #photography

A recently fledged juvenile blackbird in speckled brown, stands in a lichen-covered stone bird bath. In the background is part of a shed painted an aquamarine colour.
