A west of Ireland #painting "Poulnabrone VI" came out of several trips to County Clare and the iconic portal tomb in the Burren. I sometimes look at this picture of my painting when I want to feel better about the colour orange. #SpéirGhorm #ArtYear #ColorADay #OrangeSun #StandingStoneSunday

Those tales are how we connect to each other, how we build community and how we resist. That is why Hookland exists. Yes he is the River and his wife is the rainbow. I love these stories, fantastic Vodou creation stories. Well worth a read! Snakes are symbols of water, wisdom and healing the whole world over. I wish we could look at things from more than one viewpoint in wow.

There is a bad taste in this writing, something stinks and is only getting stinkier. And it upsets me because I was so excited to play a Darkspear with all their fun little nods to Jamaican and dancehall culture. Things I love, real world things, that are repeatedly shat upon. It hurts.

Whoever is writing this has chronic Western brain. SNAKE = BAD, KILL! No one questions these choices. Zul'Jan dies because he was "WRONG" so death is only option. Keeping a clever character around to question choices is important but he is gone.

He is witty, wise and charismatic, people follow him and it is the people that follow him that are Zul'Jin's true strength, the Amani people make him great. Facts that just get thrown out the window in wow. They make him a brute, desperate.

They call him Zul'jin, which is the troll equivalent of being called One Don! He unites the Armani tribes, by force? NO! by being the baddest bad dude. He challenges each tribal leader to a trial of their choosing, mans up there winning the day with slam poetry recitals for all we know.

The way they recently handled the Amani makes me very uncomfortable for any future troll writing. We all hate Zul'Jin now? That statue in Tal'Aman? nah we spit on it everyday thats why its there YEAH! In case you forgot that plot point let me reiterate it with every line of dialog!

A sculpture of Zul'Jin at Tal'Aman. His model larger than life in a greyish colour suggesting it is sculpted from stone. He is one eyed and onearmed as at his death. But he definatly isn't there because we all love him and he thought and died for his people as a hero or anything.

My favorite troll quest is an Alliance only quest. You collect rubbings of Troll Folklore and these are some fun stories. They read like propper Griot craft. You get a real feel for the people and their values but the troll player never gets to read these stories. Why?

The Darkspear starting zone. You meet Zuni, this super friendly Shaman is a joy to have at your side. You feel like you belong, you have a friend. This is what troll questing should be, indigenous storytelling focuses on the importance of communal connection.

I play the quest in horror for every shrine I desecrate and priest I put to the knife, having to completely disassociate myself from my character. Because he would never do this. You went home and did what? My Orc bros would ask backing away in disgust If I told them. My Heritage is MURDER.
