The parallels between AI culture and car culture just keep on coming. Remembering the saleswoman at the NY Auto Show who told me how bad men were at buying cars in good part because when they go into dealerships they spend the time showing off their "knowledge" instead of asking questions.

Russia promises to sell Trump oil, knowing that they can't deliver. When Trump is going to ask for it, Russia can blame Ukrainian attacks on Russian infrastructure for their inability to deliver - thus getting Trump angry at Ukraine. It's fucked, but I respect the 3D chess the Kremlin is playing.

It seems to be Prime Day. I don't have an Amazon-account, but eBay is sending me recommendations as well. Apparently I need a mattress, and industrial food dehydrator and new tires for a car. Great to see that surveillance capitalism seems to not understand my profile, at all.

The pile of white powder on the right is labeled "CPUs talking via temperature." In the bottom panel, Elmo is snorting the white powder enthusiastically.

I want to emphasize this - suddenly ending up in (rather seriously mild) chronic pain changed my view on a lot of things. After a very short time you are willing to do anything legal and a lot of illegal things to alleviate the pain, even if it's just a little. You can't see pain. But it sucks.
