Saw the new Resident Evil. Great fun. My favourite bit is where the guy checked the hospital map, plotted a route through the maternity ward, and the entire cinema made an "oh, no" noise in unison

couldn't resist reading the Doomsday leak. it does sound ridiculous in places but any summary of a Marvel plot sounds ridiculous, i'm not worried about what it sounds like outside of its medium. I *am* quite surprised that it sounds like they're sticking pretty close to the comics in one aspect.

The other nice surprise about Townfall is that Terry O'Quinn is in it. I had no idea beforehand and was trying to place the voice (thought it might be Tobin Bell for a second) and then the opening credits played and it's John Locke :)

Finished the RE3 remake tonight with Sam. I hated it when it first came out but every time I revisit it I come a little further around to it. It's not a good version of the original, but once you get past that it's a fun, pacy little action movie. It's short but that means it never loses momentum.

Finished Split Fiction with Sam. kind of impressive that the characters are so annoying and the dialogue so bad that they manage to make the brilliant gameplay feel like a chore at points. it's arguably the best co-op platformer ever made and Zoe and Mio spend the whole thing begging you to hate it

OK. I am sure I'll enjoy the new Metroid, but the "ravenous" part of it is literally nothing and I refuse to pretend it's a new element. That's picking up power-ups from enemies, that is. That's incredibly normal Metroid. I'm simply not having it.

weirdly, this review makes me more interested in Wolverine, even though my expectations were low and the reviews seem to bear that out. but I *do* have a real soft spot for that particular era of movie tie-in games and this sounds like it might be my kind of popcorn even if it's not a world-beater.

Had a bit of a feeling Wolverine wasn't going to get glowing reviews. I think on a broader level, the age of this particular kind of melee action-adventure is probably coming to a close? Can't remember the last time I was particularly hyped to really get in there and parry some guys.

Gave Agent 64 a shot and it's surprisingly good! Think I played the alpha way back and forgot about it. It gets the feel right, plays like something half-way between GoldenEye and Perfect Dark and then adds on some neat little Timesplitters-like Arcade Mode challenges.
