Over the last decade, there were two hypotheses: H1: the political right genuinely cared about threats to speech from the left. you may have meant "majority" but "almost Exclusively" is just a straight up falsehood about 50% of SC Dems are black, give or take, depending on the election in 2020 (most recent year I could find broken down by demographics) trump won whites by 69% and whites make up 75% of the electorate.

looking at race demographics Trump won 69% of the white vote which accounts for 75% of palmetto voters (31% of 75% is 23% of the coring population)

Biden took 92% of the black vote, which is 22% of South Carolina's voting base. (92% of 22% is 20% of the overall voting population)
