This is an ugly Trojan horse due to overbroad drafting: an amendment putatively about boy racers give power to Police to close any public place if disorder is imminent, direct people not to enter, arrest them if they try to do so or infringe them — all without any prospect of judicial supervision. 🤦🏼‍♂️

An easier way would be making it a social CO-OP with buy-in from existing NZ local growers/suppliers to the grocery market. Requiring suppliers to price at an agreed upon cost-plus pricing scheme rather than international market pricing, Extending it to a rebate scheme for local consumption. #nzpol

Craig Renney explaining how Nats and crew are very bad with money.
"We're not a poor country, but we absolutely make poor choices when it comes to spending.

Let me give you a very brief example. Boot camps.

The first round of boot camps cost $4.1 million for ten children.

That's $410,000 per child.

For that money, let's assume they lived in Palmerston North.

I could pick them up in Palmerston North in a limousine. I could drive them to Wellington Airport. I could fly them first class, Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, to London.

In London, I could pick them up in another limousine, Rolls-Royce Wraith II if you must, and drive them to Windsor.

At Windsor, I could drop them off at Eton private school. I could pay for an entire year at Eton and give them $1,000 a week in spending money.

At the end of the year, I could pick them up in the limousine, fly them first class all the way back to Wellington, drive them home to Palmerston North, and then hand them a cheque for $125,000.
