African Perioperative Research Group is a phenomenal group of 2000 clinician researchers from 1200 hospitals in 43 African countries. Predominantly unfunded, they have mapped surgical & critical illness outcomes across Africa and have started initiatives to decrease the unacceptably high mortality.
